This coffee cone will self-destruct in 10 minutes.

There will no doubt be skepticism among those who believe coffee should remain resolutely in a mug when CoffeeInaCone arrives in Victoria later this month. This is either one of the best things to happen to coffee, or the worst.

On the one hand, there's zero waste – finish your coffee, then finish off the chocolate-waffle vessel it came in. (The waffle cone is lined with a thick layer of special-blend chocolate that makes it leak-proof.) On the other hand, it’s coffee in a waffle cone. You’ve got around 10 minutes to finish your coffee before the chocolate melts, the maker of the product says.

CoffeeInaCone was developed by a man called Dayne Levinra. It has already made its way to several countries around the world including Canada, Hong Kong and South Africa (where it originated).

While Sydneysiders can already try one at Balgowlah's Bacino Bar, Melburnians will have to wait and see which cafes will stock CoffeeInaCone locally.
