While Brunetti Panetteria (Italian for bakery) officially opened its doors on the 13th of July, finishing touches are still being made here and there. But you can’t miss the glass box protruding from the front wall boldly displaying freshly baked bread and heralding the store’s arrival.

With polished concrete floors, a huge image of a cheeky little boy noshing on some bread and custom mosaic share tables - the diminutive space is a showcase for Brunetti bread, which could easily be overlooked in the other more dolce focused stores. Loaf baskets line the back wall, offering a wider variety of breads than sister stores and including options specifically aimed at the interests of local clientele- including organic options. But if it’s a sweet Italian fix you’re after, the glass display holds all the usual suspects from bomboloni to cannoli.

We also hear rumours of another Brunetti joining the family at Myer in the coming months.
