The Botanical restaurant is taking over the upstairs dining room at the Portsea Hotel this summer.
The South Yarra restaurant’s coastal outpost will host dinner every night from January 3 to 22. (The Botanical and the Portsea Hotel are both owned by the Colonial Leisure Group).
The food will take inspiration from The Botanical’s city menu, but will include seaside-appropriate dishes including oysters shucked to order and snapper carpaccio.
For mains, there’s pork fillet with grilled peaches and apple-cider gel, and scotch fillet with beetroot salad. A coconut mousse with lime granita is on the menu for dessert.
“We’re taking the Botanical down to Portsea and wrapping it in a relaxed summer vibe,” says Peter Baker, general manager of The Botanical.
