As a city that lives and breathes coffee, December 25 in Melbourne is the one day of the year that creates an ultimate conundrum in terms of being able to source it. The good stuff anyway.

This year, to solve the dilemma and bring together all those living interstate, overseas or simply just bucking family tradition, Mark W Free (Brother Baba Budan) will be opening his doors for the Black Coffee Orphans’ Christmas.

For those who missed the Black Coffee Pop-Up at Somewhere Gallery earlier this year, the premise is much the same; no sugar, no milk, no espresso. Just beans from local micro roasters that can be served through aeropress, pour over and siphon.

Music, beer, small edibles and dancing will also be on offer at various points throughout the day.

Black Coffee Orphans’ Christmas will be open from 9am until late on Christmas Day.
