After the success of Day of the Donut only a few weeks ago, bakers from all corners of the city are setting their sights on the Flour Market’s next scrumptious venture: the Winter Bake Sale.

Expanding the repertoire to include not just doughnuts, but bagels, pies, cookies, crumpets, scrolls, waffles and more, Flour Market will take over the Collingwood Town Hall on Sunday July 5.

Appearing at the bake sale are old Flour Market favourites: 5 & Dime Bagel Company, Agathe Patisserie, All Day Donuts, Bakewell & Co., Dr Marty's Crumpets, Citizen Cacao, Cobb Lane, Everyday Coffee, GF Precinct, Moonbeam Kitchen, Nora, Pierogi Pierogi, Pure Pie and Shop Ramen.

Alongside these regulars are nine new vendors: Beatrix, Butterbing, Candied Bakery, Jo Barrett, Linh Dang, Loafer Bread, Pop Up Scroll, Raw Trader and Waffee.

“We’ve got more vendors, with more stock this year, so no one should miss out,” says co-organiser of the event, Sarah Booth.

“Vendors this year will bring more of the specialties they’re famous for, but there’s also whispers of new flavour launches on the day.”

Creators of covetable cookies, Simone Clark and Trevor Stubbs of Butterbing, will make their Flour Market debut, selling their butter-cream-filled brownie-cookie sandwiches. Describing the cookie sandwiches as “some mind-blowing treats” Booth is excited to have the up-and-comers onboard.

“I’m not even a sweet tooth and I was blown away by these cookies. They are gluten-free, too, which is a real bonus,” says Booth.

A limited number of Early Riser tickets will be available today via the Flour Market’s social media channels, which will allow a lucky few to skip the queue and enter the bake sale 30 minutes before general admission. For just $10 you’ll have the first pick of the bunch.

“Everything that comes to the event is absolutely top of its field so there’s never a chance you’ll leave disappointed. Unless you get there late!” says Booth.

Doors will open at 9am at the Collingwood Town Hall at 140 Hoddle Street, Abbotsford, and the market will run until stock sells out. Early Riser tickets will be released via Flour Market social media today, and ticket holders can enter the sale at 8.30am.
