Ben Shewry, chef-owner of Ripponlea fine diner Attica, just hosted a glitzy dinner party in Los Angeles. Shewry, one of Australia’s best-known chefs and the star of an episode of Netflix’s Chef’s Table, cooked for celebs including actor, comedian and now homewares mogul Seth Rogen, writer and director Lauren Miller Rogen, former Disney Channel star Debby Ryan, and Josh Dun of Twenty One Pilots.
The dinner – a celebration of “friendship and the creative community” – was hosted at the Los Angeles studio of husband-and-wife visual arts duo Dabsmyla. Originally from Melbourne, the pair are known in the US for their vibrant, cartoonish paintings and psychedelic graffiti works – and the technicoloured tablescape at the dinner was made to match, with colourful cutlery, personalised placemats and an elaborate centrepiece bursting with mushrooms and daisy-shaped candle holders.

SIGN UPProduce was sourced in collaboration with acclaimed Californian chef Daniel Patterson. In a post on his personal Instagram account, Shewry said the two chefs traversed “over 40 food stores and supermarkets” and “hiked the hills for wild foods” to find ingredients for the night.
We hope Rogen gifted the superstar chef some pot(tery) at the end of the meal.
