Dine Out
• For Dine Out, Bar Spontana head chef Pipat “Noomie” Yodmunee, who is from the south of Thailand, has invited friend and fellow southerner Oak Kunnalok, head chef at Lexy, to the Spontana kitchen. Together they’ll share the flavours of home on a $96 set menu, including obscure regional dishes rarely seen in Melbourne. Expect pork, seafood, turmeric and lots of chilli. July 23, 5.30pm–10pm. Book here.
• Chef Kyle Nicol (Lilac, Supernormal, Rascal and Hazel) takes over Gertrude Street’s Poodle with a one-night-only fire-focused feast anchored by suckling pig baguettes cooked over coals on the patio and served smoking hot. DJs will spin tunes while the pig spins over the fire. The menu is à la carte for up to five people, or there’s a $75-per-person set menu for groups of six or more. July 24, 7pm–11pm. Book here.
