Ben Shewry’s Attica may be best known as one of Australia’s top fine-dining restaurants, but the chef has never shied away from cooking delicious comfort food. During the Covid-19 lockdowns, Attica turned into a bake shop, attracting huge queues for its take on a variety of baked goods. But the treat that wowed fans the most was the creamy Basque burnt cheesecake.

The luxurious dessert returns this weekend when Attica pops up at Market Lane Coffee’s headquarters and roastery in Brunswick East. On Saturday April 20, from 9am – 1pm (or until sold out), all proceeds from slices of cheesecake and filter coffee purchases will go to Children’s Ground, an organisation supporting First Nations youth. There will also be merch available, with Attica T-shirts and Market Lane totes for sale.

With such a powerhouse team-up, make sure you pop in early to ensure you get a slice and a cuppa before it’s all gone.
