Arbory Bar & Eatery made waves earlier this year with its Espresso Martinis on tap. Now, with the help of Tori Allen Events and design agency We Are Huntly, Arbory Afloat has docked. Just in time for the Spring Races.
Arbory Afloat sits buoyant upon the Yarra River, just a stone’s throw from Flinders Street Station. The pop-up oasis sits adjacent to the bar and restaurant on Flinders Walk, offering first-class views of its tree-lined mother venue and the bright lights of the Melbourne skyline.
The design team has decked out the 120-capacity boat in a nautical style with an undertone of 1970s Palm Springs flair. Guests are invited to bask in the sun with a cocktail while enjoying a soundtrack from Chico G and Paul Jager, who will spin tunes into the night.
The food and drink offering is different to that served at Arbory Bar & Eatery. Chef Nick Bennett has focused on the use of premium seafood and smoked skewers. The liquid offering will consist of French champagne, food-friendly beers (Asahi, Stone & Wood and Mountain Goat) and four cocktails designed specifically for the event.
Arbory Afloat is located on the Yarra River in front of Arbory Bar & Eatery on Flinders Walk. It launched on Tuesday October 27 and will stay open until Sunday November 8. Opening hours are 11am until late.
