Fifty-six Aussie bakeries have found themselves on La Liste’s list of the world’s best pastry shops for 2024. La Liste is an independent restaurant ranking founded in 2015. It aims to create the ultimate list of the world’s best restaurants, hotels and pastry shops based on an aggregate score generated using data from restaurant reviews, consumer reviews, bloggers, guides and other sources.

The 2024 list includes patisseries from over 80 countries and features 24 Victorian and 31 New South Wales venues. Hearth Restaurant and Lounge in Perth is the only spot outside of Victoria and New South Wales on the list.

Melbourne bakeries on this year’s list are beloved Japanese- and Aussie-inspired Tokyo Lamington, Fitzroy’s iconic Lune Croissanterie and Collingwood’s Falco Bakery.

From Sydney, Iggy’s Bread, Tuga Pastries and Roller’s Bakehouse are just a few of the bakeries named.

Twenty-five Individual awards were also presented at La Liste’s annual awards ceremony in Paris on Monday June 17 local time. Rosemary Andrews of Mietta by Rosemary in Malvern won La Liste’s Pastry Opening of the Year award, and 2am dessert bar by Janice Wong at the W Sydney took home a Pastry Innovation Award.
