Handsom
Features
British expats Sam Rush and Henry Allum founded Handsom in 2009. The label is for men and women who value considered, contemporary casualwear for every day.
Designs are grounded in functionality and high-quality fabrication. New colours, textures and house-designed prints are introduced each season to create an interesting and playful spin on classic staples.
Men can expect to browse smart button-down shirts, simple cotton tees, selvedge jeans, and luxe cashmere and merino jumpers, all designed by Allum. Rush is behind the women’s range of knits, bomber jackets, flared and tapered pants and lightweight, utilitarian dresses.
To complement the clothing, there’s a range of curated accessories. You’ll find distinctive sunglasses from Pared and ceramics by Sydney-based maker Milly Dent, designed to complement the season’s knitwear collection.
Before opening in late 2012, Rush and Allum stripped back the interior themselves to reveal exposed-brick arches (which they white-washed) and the natural colour of the concrete floor. A neon-pink sign depicting the label’s penny-farthing logo glows prominently on the wall.
