Features
What started as a food-stall staple at so-Melbourne gatherings such as Meredith Music Festival and others is now a solid part of the furniture on Gertrude Street, Fitzroy.
The Trippy Taco space can effortlessly seat 45 punters when you include inside and kerbside spaces. The cantina-style space is low-frills and just fast-food-esque enough to create a relaxed atmosphere. It serves its (huge) trademark tacos, quesadillas, burritos and taquitos, with vegetarian soy cheese options for vegans. Almost all of the menu is, or can be, made gluten free. For a snack, the Trippy fries with seasoning are a great option.
For a good early start, try the breakfast burrito, taco or quesadilla. For dessert, go the sweet tamale; a sweet-corn tamale with ice-cream, banana and maple syrup (vegan option available), the Nutella melt (large flour tortillas spread with Nutella and grilled) or the churros. Trippy is also licensed and does beers (Sol, Negra Modelo, Coronoa, Pacifico) and glasses or jugs of sangria and magaritas alongside wines.
Takeaway and phone orders welcome.
