Features
Strangeworld feels more like a living room than a store. Though you’ll find something from almost every genre, there’s a particular focus on punk, metal and garage.
Strangeworld’s collection of post-punk and noise records, sourced both locally and overseas, is one of Melbourne’s most comprehensive. Owner Richie Ramone (yes, he has the same name as the former drummer for The Ramones) stocks thousands of esoteric releases – including those from his own label, Homeless.
Shipments of new and second-hand music arrive weekly. Vinyl aside, you’ll also find a good selection of cassettes, CDs, shirts and magazines for sale.
If you can’t drop in, check out Strangeworld’s online store.
