Features
Underwood Wine Bar in North Fitzroy is a small, broody room with bare brick and lots of wood. The food and wine is a celebration of small, local producers and businesses.
The drinks list focuses on boutique winemakers and brewers from around the state, plus a few extra wines from further afield nationally. You might find Kooinda Pale Ale from Heidelberg and Doss Blockos Pale Ale from St Kilda next to Thick As Thieves Sylvaner from the King Valley and Valley Vignerons Sangiovese from the Yarra Valley.
The food is an accompaniment to the succinct drinks list, and a collaboration with Fitzroy North delicatessen Obelix & Co. Expect a seasonal rotation of share plates and salumi highlighting all-Victorian produce
Between the greenery-filled back courtyard, the light-filled interior and stools on the front footpath, there’s a spot for groups of every size. All that’s left to do is settle in and taste the best of what the state has to offer.
