Beloved live music spot the Fitzroy Pinnacle closed at the beginning of 2026. But the pointy corner pub’s last call wasn’t the end after all. Michael Bascetta – co-founder of Bar Liberty, Falco and Capitano, and currently part of the Reed House team – took over the building with Arnold’s chef Scott Eddington.
Now, it’s business as usual at The Pinny – pints, pub meals and plenty of sun in the beer garden out back. The focus here is on counter meals and pub classics, with happy hours, parma specials and weekly roasts rounding out a familiar offering.
Inside, the latest rendition of The Pinnacle comes without the stage, which was removed during the minor renovation. This opens up the dining room for more punters and makes the space family-friendly, albeit a little less rowdy than before.
