There has been an explosion of Pop-Up shops in Melbourne in the last few months. For young, underground or established labels looking for some street cred the formula is a proven one. You get to distil the essence of your brand into an espresso version of your long-black vision.
This summer the GPO is ground zero and Level One the epicentre. We’ve already seen Limedrop’s philosophy bear fruit. Their oversized shirts and tees will be happy in any hip wardrobe. Plus it gives these guys a chance to show their entire collection in one spot. So check out the jewellery, the soft jersey jackets and lighter than light dresses.
Overlooking Elizabeth Street, their pop-up store is bright, airy and welcoming and a great way to introduce yourself to these aspiring designers.
Same level, down the way a little, Swensk is getting ready for some summer trade too. Their usual blend of subtle and quirk, Swedish style, is a nice way to bring in the warmer weather and at some great prices too. Pop in and see these guys while you can; their philosophy of good quality and slow fashion is worthy of the extra attention. It'll be short lived though - just until the new year.
And if you miss it, their main store off Little Collins Street is still a beacon to all things cool calm and Scandinavian.
Limedrop Pop Up
