Adriana Giuffrida and Samantha Stevenson, the designers behind POMS and Pared Eyewear respectively, have teamed up to create the ultimate summer frames. The Gatto range takes its name from the Italian word for cat and is a follow up to the pair’s popular Halva collection, released last year. The expertly crafted frames are a continuation of the pair’s fun eyewear staples, exaggerating a classic oval shape with fresh colour and jewel finishes.

The women, who met working at clothing manufacturer Bleach, have since gone their separate ways to establish their own ever-popular labels. Despite this they’ve hung on to a playful aesthetic that remains strong in this latest collaboration. The Gatto campaign is fronted by talented Melbourne tune-maker Banoffee, whose song Let’s Go To The Beach is featured in its cute video.

The off-kilter colour palate and ’90s vibe of the eyewear echoes POMS’ recent GEM** collection while pulling off one of the best variations on the cat eye we’ve seen in recent years. The design is sweetly subversive with green, apricot and blue glass lenses encased in black, tortoise shell, clear and candy-pink frames. Gold and silver plated sleepers clasp the tinkling Swarovski gems that hang from each pair’s arm, which can also be removed and worn as earrings.

The Gatto collection is available now from the POMS and Pared online stores.
