Mexico is a diverse landscape, rich in culture and full of life. It was the country’s boldness, brightness and exuberance that inspired Mister Zimi designer Zoe Paul’s latest SS13/14 collection, Miss Mexicana.
Channelling the laidback 70s, ultra wide-leg palazzo pants, sweetheart jumpsuits, harem pants and crop tops form silhouettes for a casual collection that can be worn for almost any occasion.
“The lightweight rayon that we use is versatile and trans-seasonal. It can be worn to the races or a wedding as it can be dressed up, or to the beach,” says Paul.
The collection is eye-catching, with bursts of turquoise, aquamarine, burnt orange, crimson and yellow emulating the crystal waters and burning horizons of the Mexican coastline. “I’m a little obsessed with the place due to its colour,” Paul says.
Tying in with all things Mexican, tropical fruits, pina coladas and modern Aztec patterns are used to create flirty, vivid summer prints.
And if it’s shoes that tickle your fancy, leather summer wedges provide the finishing touch to a perfect spring/summer statement outfit that can be worn day or night.
Miss Mexicana will be available in Mister Zimi boutiques and online in October.
