Sydney-based womenswear label Lover has just released part four of its all-white ethereal capsule collection, White Magick.

Designers Nic Briand and Susien Chong wanted to add to their mainline collection in order to fill a gap in the market for pared-back, elegant, white dresses that could also be worn as bridal pieces. “When we first started doing White Magick, we simply took archive styles and put them all together, like a ‘greatest hits’ compilation. But now in its fourth year, we’re starting to really enjoy the process of reinterpreting styles, even the fabrics,” Briand says.

The collection echoes Lover’s ethos of creating garments for the Lover woman, who encapsulates intelligent and modern femininity. This fourth release is composed of both mid-length and full-length gowns, as well as separates and several shorter dresses. The garments express a romantic aesthetic with signature lace detailing, embroidery, flowing hems and elegant necklines.

“White Magick is a continual evolution of the Lover aesthetic,” says Briand, “Each season we want to create a kind of mystical world of beauty. An area caught between reality and fantasy.”

Lover’s White Magick collections have been met with enormous success, providing as it does a modern, subtle alternative to the current bridal market.

White Magick by Lover Part 4 is exclusively available from the Sydney flagship boutique at The Strand Arcade.
