With nail art emerging as a lasting trend, it seems the French manicure is now a thing of the past. Celia Cecchi started I Scream Nails with the intention of putting her colourful designs on as many Melbournian fingertips as possible.
“I’ve always had an interest in colourful fingernails and nail art,” says Cecchi. “I decided that I wanted to offer my love for nails to Melbourne in a way that would be accessible and affordable. So I Scream Nails was born.” Cecchi specialises in wild and colourful designs – think leopard print, 80s neon, polka dots, stripes, zigzags, glitter and Copacabana-inspired designs. Let’s just say that wherever your creativity can take you, Cecchi will be there waiting with some polish and a brush.
This September, she’s holding a series of pop up shops in Northcote studio Head Quarters, just off High Street. It costs $35 for nail art and $20 for plain polish with over 120 colours to choose from. Appointments aren’t necessary, but you can give the girls a call or shoot them an email to ensure you’re not missing out. For the pop-up, Cecchi has rounded up four talented nail artists and they’ve been experimenting with new designs and techniques.
“Our nail art is constantly changing. It’s easy to keep reinventing a nail design or pattern to suit what you are wearing or you mood. The I Scream Nails girls all bring something different to the mix. We all have our own unique style and taste, which I think compliments each other.”
The pop-up events are all about creating a fun and vibrant environment where you can go and get your nails painted for an affordable price.
We say bring on the wild designs and colourful nails.
