Just over a year ago Swedish fast-fashion brand, H&M, opened its first Australian store in Melbourne’s GPO to much fanfare. Clocks outside the building counted down in anticipation, queues wrapped outside the building for weeks afterward.

Now one of the world’s largest fashion retailers has announced its second Melbourne store in Eastland, Ringwood. An open date is yet to be confirmed.

A spokesperson for H&M says: “We have been very pleased with the customer reception so far at our H&M store at Melbourne’s GPO and are looking forward to our expansion within Melbourne. We see Eastland as a great shopping destination to be a part of and we are excited to open our first mall store.”

The new H&M store will be part of Eastland's new $665 million development, which will expand the centre by 48,000 square metres. H&M is only one major partner so far announced in Eastland's new rollout, with more local and international brands to be announced.

Since opening in Melbourne last year, H&M has launched three more stores nationwide: North Ryde in New South Wales and Indooroopilly Shopping Centre and Westfield Garden City in Queensland.
