In May we ventured to High Street in Northcote and the pretty suburb's side streets. The sun was shining but the temperature was crisp – pure autumn weather and autumnal uniforms were what we saw: light jackets; dark jeans and trousers; checkered shirts, coats and skirts; and brown leather boots. Definitely not summer, but not quite winter – here, Melburnians were dressed for comfort as well as style.
Occasional splashes of colour came in the form of season-appropriate oranges and reds, from statement sweaters, pants, caps and shoes, to boldly patterned tops.
It's not scarf and beanie weather yet, and we're enjoying it.
In this series, Broadsheet captures candid Melbourne moments in the vein of street style photographers and documenters Bill Cunningham, Tommy Ton and Adam Katz Sinding.
