Childhood fantasies converge with fashion at Melbourne Spring Fashion Week’s “Shop the City” weekend at Emporium. The shopping centre will be transformed into an adult playground, complete with live music at the food court.
There’s a 3 by 3 metre ball pit photo booth, where you can capture your Vogue moment with the carefully placed camera hanging above. If the line gets too long, (we’re guessing it might), you can channel your inner child at to the Huge Neon Art jungle-gym installation that’s channelling the current architectural zeitgeist for all things nostalgic.
You can also play dress-ups at the Untamed Garden Photobooth (a potent combination of makeovers, drinks and flash photography). 1920s-style grooming boutique “Whiskey+Whiskers” will be nearby with the dapper Fleet St Barbers offering beard trims and top-shelf whiskey, and beauty experts from Aveda and Millenium Hair Salon can make you a new look at the “Play, Pretty, Play Nice” beauty bar.
At 7pm tonight, 140 brimming champagne saucers will be delicately balanced at “Prosecco Towers“. It might be indulgent, but at the end of the day, the best thing about fashion is that it’s fun.
Saturday and Sunday: 12pm onwards
