Following a packed two-week program (with more than 100 events), Melbourne Fashion Festival wrapped up over the weekend. This year, creativity and sustainability were at the forefront and both emerging and established designers were in the spotlight. A swathe of local designers, creatives and fashion-lovers descended on Carlton’s Royal Exhibition Building each night – creating a hum of activity in the surrounding forecourt.
On the runway, Dom Bagnato celebrated 40 years in Aussie menswear; Elle Macpherson made her catwalk return after 14 years; Kamilaroi designer David Leslie (the founder of Gali Swimwear) debuted at MFF; and Robert Irwin strutted down the runway in style.
Outside, the street style scene was just as exciting. Colours were bold, silhouettes were grand and texture was paramount. Broadsheet photographer Liana Hardy captures some of the best street style looks around town during the second week of MFF. Did we get a snap of you?
