Featuring a tight curation of Melbourne labels – including Búl, Chloe Mottau, Dress Up, Elk, Kalaurie, Kuwaii, Lois Hazel and Vovo – Runway 6 at Melbourne Town Hall brought sustainable spring fashion to the runway on Wednesday night. Each label was selected for its concerted efforts to introduce ethical practices.
Craft has definitely made a comeback. Clashing geometric shapes, stripes and patchwork were prominent in every single label in a confection of bright colours and fabrics. Languid cuts also endured, promising a slouchy nonchalance anchored by time-honoured tailoring.
