Sephora continues to expand its Australian fleet: it has announced its next destination is Westfield Doncaster in Melbourne’s north-east. The international beauty retailer, which first opened in Paris in 1970, has around 2300 stores in 33 countries.
Gone are the days we needed the help of a third-party shipping company or a relative to bring back a Sephora beauty haul from abroad. The make-up megastore will stock Australian-first brands such as Votary, a UK skincare brand founded by the Duchess of Cambridge’s make-up artist Arabella Preston; organic face and body oil range Uma Oils; and sulphate, silicone, paraben and GMO-free coconut-oil skincare by Kopari.
The new store will open on September 20 with a launch party celebrating all things self-love. There’ll be makeover stations, a coffee cart, a DJ, and make-up artists turned beauty influencers Heidi Hamoud and Karla Roccuzzo taking part in a Q&A with Sephora’s national make-up artist Alphie Sadsad. The first 500 guests will receive a Sephora goodie bag.
Even though it’s Sephora’s 16th store down under, if the launch of Sydney’s Pitt Street Mall store in 2015 is anything to go by, big crowds are likely.
Sephora Doncaster will open at 9am on Thursday September 20.
