There’s a good reason why our wardrobes seem to scream out for new clothes as soon as the hot weather hits. The sun simply makes those black ensembles that seemed to fitting for the drab months laughable – it’s time for something sunnier. Ryder is meeting that demand, having just opened a pop-up store in Armadale that will bring a little homeward charm to your go-to summer outfits.
For a couple of seasons now Ryder has been injecting Australian womenswear with laidback attitude. Having kicked off as Arabella Ramsay’s diffusion line before striding out on her own, the Ryder girl takes Arabella’s style and refreshes it while dialing the price tag down a notch. Originally, Ryder was simply a platform for basics, leather and denim but as its following steadily grew, the label has expanded to include colourful prints, knits and separates.
Open until February, the pop-up features the latest collection for Spring Summer 2013/14 as well as samples from archives and past seasons’ sale stock. The new collection is a breath of country air, mixing the line between the bush and the beach with oceanic prints cast across slouchy knits, flannel shirting, waffle-textured shifts and lace detailing.
Though Ryder has several stockists scattered across regional and metropolitan Victoria, the Armadale pop-up is your chance to experience the label in all its glory.
