Obus is Melbourne’s own little success story. First launching the label 12 years ago, designer Kylie Zerbst has always proudly chosen to design and manufacture locally. This comes as a breath of fresh air within the current retail environment, with the majority of our clothing lines being made offshore.

The Armadale store is the newest addition to Obus’s retail stable, which comprises stores in Fitzroy, Northcote and the CBD. Situated in a white two-storey townhouse, it is the perfect context to create the personal shopping environment each of the label’s stores strive for.

Zerbst’s designs are a celebration of colour and print. The uniqueness and quality of each item makes it a staple piece in any wardrobe. The clothing is designed for the modern, travelling woman, so it is practical and made to stand the test of time and varies from merino basics to flowing silk dresses and tops.

The variety of designs also appeals to a wide age group of women, from the Fitzroy art students to the mature office moguls.

Expanding to Armadale is yet more evidence of the success this small Melbourne retail company has achieved.
