Spring is coming and that means two things for Melbourne fashion: less head-to-toe black and Melbourne Spring Fashion Week.

This year’s organisers have put together a program showcasing everything from Australian fashion stalwarts and emerging talent, to beauty workshops, film and live music performances.

Happily, more than two-thirds of the program is free and open to the public, so you can save up for that designer frock you will most-likely spot on the runway.

MSFW runs from August 30 to September 7, and we’ve handpicked some of the highlights for you.

Designer Runways One, Two, Three and Four

These are the big-ticket events of MSFW. Over four evenings enjoy a parade of the spring/summer ready-to-wear collections by Australia’s most exciting designers; from the high romance of Akira, Jayson Brunsdon and Aurelio Costarella, to the playful geometrics of Neo Dia and Lui Hon. There are two sessions for each runway – 6.30pm and 8.30pm.
