Now in its 17th year, the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival is back with a throng of runway shows featuring new and established local designers, a host of innovative workshops, esteemed international speakers, awards and plenty of opportunities to clink a champagne flute or four.
With the core program rolling out from March 18 to 24, Broadsheet is dedicated to keeping you up-to-date with all the glamour, thrills and spills, with more festival coverage than ever before. Expect interviews with international guests, rolling festival news, colourful fashion galleries and next-day runway wrap-ups.
In the meantime, be sure to get out there this week and see it all for yourself. For something a little edgy, head to Penthouse Mouse, a Moth Design pop-up space that exhibits the best of Melbourne fashion’s new guard. Be sure to take in at least one of seven L’Oreal Paris runway shows – hosted by renowned publications such as Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Frankie and Grazia – for a taste of the most innovative designers Australian fashion has to offer.
If you work within the fashion realm or you’re looking to kick start your career, get a spot at one of the three Fashion Industry Forums supported by Broadsheet, where you can join the conversation with respected designers and the fashion media elite on topics such as: The Designer's Universe, The Fashion Media Landscape and The Wool Renaissance.
If you’d prefer a more laidback experience, head to ACMI, which will be featuring fashion documentaries from around the world. And for a way to enjoy the festival without spending a dime, check out Windows by Design, which sees Australia’s leading artists display their talents in our favourite storefronts.
While the program is jam-packed, remember that the festival only runs for one week – so don’t hold back.
