Family run Melbourne based company Jardan, are expert craftspeople when it comes to furniture design and production. Dating back to their first sofa production in 1987, Jardan have been customising affordable furniture and designing one-off pieces for customers across the country.

Nurturing the business from 8 and a factory in Mt Waverley to a team of 80 with an upholstery and timber factory and showrooms in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane is Nick Garnham. Being one of few Australian furniture producers, Garnham and Jardan are committed to producing and manufacturing their wares in an ecologically responsible process with several environmental accreditation's.

For Saturday In Design back in August, Jardan did a refurbishment on an old warehouse space in Richmond and moved some of their furniture into it as a temporary pop up shop showroom. In a joint venture with Richmond Lighting, Jardan have created a showcase of their most recent products in an accessible environment incorporating both style and comfort. All Jardan funiture is custom made, so they don't sell direct to public, however this space allows us to view some of their pieces prior to purchase.

Unfortunately, the showroom is only temporary as the building housing the showroom has been earmarked for a new development. In the meantime, they are holding events such as Habitus Magazine's conversation series, starting tomorrow night with the boys from Nobody denim.
