Dipping their toe into retail waters, Melbourne label SPENCERLACY have opened their first pop-up store, Style Lab. As the name suggests, the store is designed to offer customers a sensory retail experience. Touch is the central concept, encouraging customers to get their mitts on the label’s soft and slinky wares, but the presence of other local brands means all five senses are in on the action.
Alongside SPENCERLACY’s own wares and jewellery from Liberte, importers of antique European furniture Izzi and Popo have brought their unique touch to the front window and interior of the Gertrude Street store. It’s not just about touch and sight. Plain & Simple’s candles fill the shop with an inviting aroma, while DJ Lauren Mac has created playlists and there’s even cupcakes by Lush ready to indulge your tastebuds.
Over the next three or so months the store will continue to be refreshed via new collaborations with like-minded interesting, independent companies. They’re also soon be partnering with a yet-to-be-announced Fitzroy restaurant, showcasing a signature dish every week.
