Dion Lee is a household name these days. Since launching his eponymous label in 2008, Lee has established himself as a domestic and international success; dominating catwalks and securing deals with international stockists such as NET-A-PORTER and Shopbop.

In 2011 he launched Dion Lee II, a diffusion line that offered more wearable, everyday clothing. In 2015 Lee will collaborate with Australia’s largest retailer, Target. This is following on from Target’s success with previous sartorial collaborations with the likes of Josh Goot, Missoni, Stella McCartney and Sass & Bide.

The exclusive capsule collection will reflect the lifestyle of the contemporary woman, mixing, “Elements of tailoring, lounge and active wear,” says Lee. For Lee, the “performance wear” collection is somewhat new territory. “I was excited to approach a category I hadn’t worked in before,” he says. It’s a decision Lee describes as, “intuitive”, recognising the trend of the moment – sports luxe – and the growing, “Integration between activewear and other parts of our lives.” Target has promised the line will be true to Dion Lee’s style with a combination of textiles, detailing and a vibrant mix of digital prints and metal hardware.

The limited-edition Dion Lee for Target range will launching in 35 selected Target stores nationally and online at target.com.au/dionlee from Thursday July 2.
