As far as vintage lovers go, Alice and Claire are a match made in heaven!
For three weeks from June 30, online vintage maven Claire Inc will take up residency at Melbourne fashion institution Alice Euphemia.
Tucked away in Cathedral Arcade, the residency will showcase a razor-sharp collection of vintage and cult labels from the late 1980s and 1990s. You’ll find a covetable rollcall of design legends including Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld, Sonia Rykiel, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Kenzo, Issey Miyake and Versace.
Since opening its doors in 1997, Alice Euphemia has passionately supported the antipodean aesthetic, only stocking Australian and New Zealand designers. However, as a one-off they are bending their policy to join forces with Claire Inc – so you know it has to be worthwhile.
“I'm a lover of vintage, but even more than real vintage, I'm a lover of well sourced, pre-loved designer pieces. I especially appreciate design longevity,” says Alice Euphemia founder and owner, Karen Rieschieck.
“Residencies like this are a reminder that you need to consider the second and third life of your clothes. An emotional attachment, great fabrics, clever and versatile design are the things that I love about fashion. This is exactly what Claire Inc represents.”
Unapologetically original, you can guarantee that any talent Alice Euphemia admires is one out of the box. And this collision of the online and sublime fashions worlds is no different.
Don’t miss this chance to get up close and personal with Claire Inc’s deliciously rare vintage finds which, until now, have been stuck behind your computer screen.
