Andrew McConnell is bringing back brunch at his Flinders Lane classic, Cumulus Inc.
From Saturday June 11, it’ll be available every weekend in winter. And it’s bound to be one of the best morning – or early afternoon – meals you’ll find in the CBD.
Menu highlights include twice-baked cheese soufflé with lion’s mane mushrooms and Manjimup truffle; smoked alpine trout fritta with crème fraîche and smoked salmon roe; and a perfectly snacky plate with a soft egg, Turkish bread, labneh, guindilla peppers, olives and cucumber. Or go classic with an English breakfast of fried eggs, bacon, sausage, potato rosti and Gentleman’s Relish, or anchovy paste.
On the sweet side, there’s crumpets with whipped ricotta and Rooftop honey; spongy icing sugar-dusted madeleines with bergamot curd; and caramelised caneles.
And, a bonus – unlike many of Melbourne’s other breakfast destinations, you can book online, which makes it ideal for special-occasion brunching.
From 9am to 3pm Saturday and Sunday.
