The Winter Village
The roof of the Federation Square car park has been transformed with an ice-skating rink, private igloos, a pop-up kitchen and a bar serving warming cocktails.
It's by Australian Venue Co (which operates more than 160 pubs and bars across the country) and is arriving at Fed Square's Skyline Terrace, where you'll find elevated city views.
Start with a 45-minute session at the ice rink ($10 for toddlers, $18 for children and $26 for adults), which includes helmet and ice skate hire. Then lounge in any of 24 private igloos seating between two to five guests, where you can enjoy a grazing plate, snacks and wine or beer for $49 or grab the premium package with all of those plus a dessert spread, Aperol spritz and Espresso Martinis for $69 per head. You can also head to the mega-igloo, where it'll be snowing four times a day.
For snacks, a pop-up kitchen is slinging dirty fries loaded with cheddar burger sauce, mac-and-cheese croquettes, spicy buffalo chicken bites with blue cheese sauce, a plant-based burgre, lobster & prawn rolls, giant pretzel with hot espresso martini choc-fudge and ice-cream sandwiches. The bar is also serving Espresso Martinis and winter warmers to keep the cold away.
Take advantage of two-for-one deals on cheap-skate Tuesday, go for a brunch-plus-skate session on weekend mornings, or grab a family skate pass every Sunday.
