The historic township of Walhalla once housed 4000 gold seekers, but is now home to just 20 residents. But during the month of August, this quiet mountainside town is transformed by the vibrancy of the Walhalla Vinter Ljusfest. Following in Swedish tradition of celebrating the icy months, it draws people to the hills with an exciting light and soundscape. Daily light shows operate from 6.30pm to 9pm, and you can even ride the train from Walhalla to Thomson stations come nightfall.
A month-long celebration of Winter.
