306-308 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy

After a decade in business, Wah-Wah is holding a five-day pop-up, so fans can finally shop its threads in person.

It’s been a long time coming for knitwear label Wah-Wah. Over the last 10 years, it’s built a cult following for its vibrant, in-your-face designs that pack a punch. Until now, Wah-Wah has never held its own pop-up shop.

Lucky for Melburnians, the label is popping up for five days on Brunswick Street, Fitzroy. “I wanted to do my first pop-up shop in the suburb that feels most like my home away from home – Fitzroy,” founder Kaylene Milner says.

Wah-Wah is best known for its collaborations with artists like Ramesh, Minna Leunig, Filthy Ratbag and Kaylene Whiskey, and bands like Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Sonic Youth, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, and Amyl and the Sniffers. All collaborators earn royalties on each piece sold, and all jumpers are made from Australian merino wool.

At the pop-up, there will be access to limited winter stock, and free shipping will be offered if you’re looking for any sold-out sizes or styles.
