The fine diner is trading its 55th floor digs for a one-day-only barbeque. Expect “boujie Bunnings” featuring crab sausages, lamingtons and picnic-ready drops from the 15,000-bottle wine cellar.

Dining at Vue de Monde usually comes with stellar views, meticulously prepared food, a months-long waitlist and a much lighter wallet. But for one day00 only, it’s flipping the script with a family-friendly barbeque in a new spot.

It’s trading the Rialto Towers for the picturesque Royal Botanic Gardens, with executive chef Hugh Allen using his culinary expertise and attention to detail on classic barbeque fare with a twist.

That means crab sausage snags (or a vegetarian-friendly mushroom version), lamingtons and Sydney rock oysters, plus snacks to round out your barbie spread. A pop-up cellar door is also selling wine from the restaurant’s stash of 15,000 bottles.

From 11am to 4pm or until sold out.
