Fine Jewels & Timepieces and Fine Art Auctions at Leonard Joel
For over 100 years Leonard Joel has made its name as an Australian marketplace for the rare, the beautiful and the extraordinary. From its 1919 beginnings on Little Collins Street to three decades based in South Yarra, the premier auction house has just relocated to larger premises in the heart of Hawthorn, designed by Melbourne-based interior design firm, Studio Doherty.
Leonard Joel presents a range of expertly curated auctions, delivered both in-person and online. From jewellery and fine art to furniture, decorative objects, luxury items, and more, Leonard Joel is home to some of the most important and interesting collections in the country.
This month, Leonard Joel celebrates the opening of the new Hawthorn space with two major auctions.
On Monday March 18, the Fine Jewels & Timepieces auction presents collectable and rare jewels and watches from some of the world’s greatest makers. Rolex, Cartier, Piaget, Omega, Tiffany & Co, Bulgari and Tag Heuer all grace the catalogue, with items estimated to sell from around the $500 mark all the way to a stunning $50,000-60,000 Cartier diamond ring.
On Tuesday March 19, the Fine Art auction presents a wide range of works by significant Australian and international artists, with a featured selection of post-war and contemporary pieces. Artists include John Coburn, John Brack, Charles Blackman, Reko Rennie, Ann Thomson, Tracey Moffatt and the Warakurna Women’s Collaborative.
Viewing ahead of both auctions takes place between Friday March 15 and Sunday March 17, from 10am to 4pm. As usual, the auctions themselves will take place both on-site at the new Hawthorn saleroom and online.
