Classic Shanghainese restaurant David’s opened in 1998. Now the yum cha hotspot is ready to party for its 20th anniversary.
There will be two special events in the 20 Years of David’s party series.
First, on September 17, is the grand feast where 100 guests at a stand-up event will work their way through 100 kilograms of seafood and 100 bottles of wine from Yering Station in the Yarra Valley. Included will be Pacific oysters, Spring Bay mussels, crispy soft-shell crabs and Queensland King prawns. Seafood will be wok-tossed in XO sauce and served as a communal feast. The event starts at 7pm.
There will also be the Two Decades of Decadence nine-course degustation in October. The meal will involve some favourite dishes from the David's menu including Long Jing green tea-sautéed prawns and Shanghai sticky pork belly with chat potatoes. there will also be new dishes including steamed sea perch fillet in a native-spinach broth. The dinner starts at 7pm.
