Truffle Melbourne Festival at Queen Victoria Market
Update (June 11): This event has been rescheduled and now reflects current dates.
The annual Truffle Melbourne Festival is one of the largest celebrations of truffles outside of Europe, and it’s back in a big way.
Florentino chef-owner Guy Grossi is kicking off the two-day celebration by cooking truffle-inspired dishes alongside other Melbourne chefs, including Victor Liong of Lee Ho Fook, Joe Vargetto of Mister Bianco, Napier Quarter’s Eileen Horsnell, Jesse Gerner of Bomba and more.
Put your new cooking skills to the test and buy fresh truffles to take home, starting at just $8. There’ll be a range of black truffles on hand from five growers across Australia.
If you’d prefer to leave the cooking to the experts, order truffle-infused dishes from food trucks and vendors across the market: there’ll be mac and cheese, paella, pizza, raclette, gnocchi, cannoli, crepes and pasta from a Parmesan wheel.
The drinks will be truffle-infused too, with the Prosecco Van pouring truffle Espresso Martinis, truffle Bloody Marys and truffle G&Ts. Beers and cider will also be infused with truffle goodness for the occasion.
There’ll be DJs spinning tunes all weekend (but the music will not be truffle-themed).
Entry to the festival is free. From 9am to 5pm on Saturday, and from 9am to 4pm on Sunday.
