Truffle Festival Comes to Melbourne

For thousands of years, people around the world have enjoyed "the diamond of the kitchen" for its ability to turn an ordinary dish into something luxurious.

This weekend Queen Victoria Market will host a two-day festival to mark the start of truffle season, with tastings, a market truffle trail, artisanal product stalls and even mock truffle-dog hunts.

Truffle Melbourne believes everyone starts their truffle journey in a different place - whether that be a truffled pizza, truffled scrambled eggs or sitting down to a European white truffle (which can sell for as much as $3600 per pound).
