Dine Out: Tetela Rosa at La Tortilleria

La Tortilleria is a small operation with big ambitions: to create the most authentic tortillas in town. A quiet haven of authentic Mexican food, it’s one of the few places in Melbourne dishing out real tortillas on-site. Now, it has handcrafted a dish exclusively for Dine Out: the Tetela Rosa.

Made from corn-based dough, tetelas are fried, triangular pockets stuffed with a variety of fillings. La Tortilleria’s special offering will be house-made, filled with stringy Oaxacan cheese and served with grilled prawns and a traditional mole sauce, also made in-house. Weaving together iconic Mexican flavours, the dish celebrates the richness of the country’s cuisine. Each element tells a story of place, tradition and craftsmanship.
