Tea Degustation at The Assembly Rooms
Flag & Spear Tea Hunters and catering company In the Art of Entertaining are teaming up to take a detour from the traditional pairing of food and wine, and presenting a food and tea-paired degustation at Fitzroy North's The Assembly Rooms.
There’ll be six savoury and two sweet dishes, prepared specially to match rare, single-origin teas from private collections and suppliers. Tea will be hot, or chilled, or room temperature - all in order to enhance particular flavours and aromas.
Information about each tea, including the origin story and brew method, will be provided with the dish. A sample pairing is slow cooked pork belly, brown sugar poached pear on five-spice French toast with Formosa Oriental Beauty – a unique Taiwanese Oolong tea with a cedar and muscatel grape aroma. Equally as delicious vegetarian options are available.
