Brunswick's Howler, which is hidden in a car park a quick stroll from Sydney Road, has re-opened its Taco and Tequila Bar.
That means rotating frozen cocktails, $6.50 tacos (with veggo and vegan options) and $10 totopos (tortilla chips with guac, pico de gallo and crispy corn) three nights a week. Plus, a special tequila-based cocktail menu with jalapeno Margaritas, mezcal-based Pina Coladas, and a boozier-than-usual Paloma Mimosa.
The pop-up inside the woolshed turned greenery-filled bar and gig space is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from December. It's also promising $5 tacos and $5 frozen Margaritas (usually $12) from 5pm to 6pm every Friday and Saturday. Choose from smoked-brisket tacos, a black-bean version with cripsy corn and feta, or the achiote chicken topped with slaw and pineapple salsa.
DJs start at 5pm and there's live music on Sunday afternoons.
