Sunday Market at Izakaya by Tamura

Sun 17th December, 2023
12:00pm – 5:00pm
343 Smith Street Fitzroy
Shop for traditional teaware, kimonos, nama chocolate, vinyls and other Japanese wares. Plus enjoy a live takoyaki station and DJs spinning tunes.

Izakaya by Tamura – a newly opened 150-seat izakaya spot from the team behind Tamura Sake Bar – is hosting a Sunday market for three weekends in December featuring local Japanese artists and makers.

Pop by the Fitzroy diner for nama chocolate (a type of Japanese ganache) from Mame Cocoa, traditional teaware and tea from Cha Haus, kimonos by Melbourne stylist Sala Okabe, vinyl records courtesy of Dr Diggns and more. For those wanting to get inked without the commitment, stop by the market’s temporary tattoo stall on the day.

There’ll also be a live takoyaki (crispy octopus balls) station, drink specials and DJs pumping tunes. Tamura Sho-ten – Tamura Sake Bar’s online merch shop – will be selling a range of slipmats and T-shirts along with its original recipe Tamura chilli oil, wasabi oil and Yuzu oil – great for Christmas gifts and stocking fillers.

From 12pm to 5pm.
