Summer Sounds: A Live Music Series
You don’t have to be a bookworm to enjoy Sundays at Bargoonga Nganjin, North Fitzroy Library.
The library and community space is hosting a series of free music shows in the building’s rooftop garden, and nearby Edinburgh Gardens, to make the most of the last of summer.
Anyone can come along to enjoy a lazy afternoon of live tunes played by local artists such as the Senegambian Jazz Band with their mix of West African music, jazz, Latin and funk. The band will play the Rotunda in Edinburgh Gardens this Sunday, February 18.
Chamber musicians Katie Yap, Kiran Phatak and Melina van Leeuwen of Chrysalis will perform on the rooftop on March 4, and Liz Mitchell from Melbourne’s Totally Mild will wrap things up on March 18.
All sessions start at 2.30pm and run for an hour.
