State Library Bricktoria

Mon 10th January, 2022 – Sun 6th February, 2022
State Library Victoria
328 Swanston Street, Melbourne
Lego bricks are taking over the State Library, with a metre-tall recreation of the building, a treasure hunt for exclusive Lego sets and an adults-only Bricks & Beats party.

Is there anything that can’t be built out of Lego? Dinosaurs, Star Wars starships, the Empire State Building, even a Dan Andrews press conference – all of these have been recreated with tiny plastic bricks.

And for four weeks, the State Library Victoria is being transformed into State Library Bricktoria with a large Lego takeover.

Ryan “The Brickman” McNaught, the only Lego certified professional in Australia, is recreating the library with a two-by-one-metre model made entirely of Lego bricks.

There’s also a treasure hunt through the library to collect bespoke Lego builds, an interactive Mystery Mosaics image that visitors can add bricks to, and an adults-only party called Bricks & Beats.
