Star Wars Neon Run
Remember when Yoda gave Luke a force workout by making him levitate an X-wing starfighter out of a swamp? The Star Wars Neon Run is nothing like that, because the world of midichlorians and the Force only exist in the minds of George Lucas and countless Star Wars fans around the world, and lifting a whole spaceship with your mind is impossible.
But that doesn't mean that if you find yourself puffed-out part way into this Star Wars-themed 5 kilometre neon night run you can't call on your own (imaginary) Force to get you across the finish line.
Inspiring you along the course will be five Star Wars-inspired installations and zones, where you'll need to hide from storm troopers, party with droids and avoid the temptation of the Dark Side. If you see a leather-daddy with a black bucket on his head and a glowing sword, keep running.
The event takes place on International Star Wars Day (May the 4th) and participants are encouraged to dress up as their favourite Star Wars characters. Ten points to anyone who has the gumption to dress up as Jar Jar Binks – you'll really need to run when the rabid original trilogy fans catch sight of you.
Early bird tickets are available for $60 until February 28; children aged nine and under can enter for $30.
From 6pm to 11pm.
